| Zack Snyder (2004's "Dawn of the Dead" remake) directs this sweeping and CG-heavy dramatization of the historic Battle of Thermopylae, based on a graphic novel by "Sin City" author Frank Miller. The highly anticipated film stars Gerard Butler ("The Phantom of the Opera") as Spartan king Leonidas, who led his 300 warriors on a stand against the overwhelming Persian army. Though they eventually fell, their actions inspired all of Greece. Lena Headey, Dominic West and Rodrigo Santoro head the supporting cast.
