I recently previewed “The Moment After 2: The Awakening,” this week’s new release from ChristianCinema.com. This sequel to 1999’s “The Moment After” continues the story of 2 FBI agents investigating the mass disappearance of Christians. Made with a bigger budget and 7 years’ experience, this production is stronger and more interesting.

The value of end-times movies is two-fold. First, they remind us that no matter how far-off it seems, Jesus IS returning for His church one day. We won’t know the day or the hour, or if it will happen pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, or no-trib. But it will happen, don’t doubt that. And second, they present an evangelistic tool to share the good news that Jesus saves and forgives all who call on His name. Director Wes Llewellyn (read our exclusive interview ) told me about a friend of his who called him and said he gave his life to Christ after seeing that film.

It reminds me again that the significance of Christian movies is more than their entertainment value or the uniqueness of their story. They present eternal truths the world needs to know. Christians working in the film industry are making a difference, and I can support that by going to see their movies in theaters, buying the DVDs, and encouraging others to do the same.
