Dear Friends,
I am so bursting with cool news, I don’t know where to start.
Today I heard that TONGUE IN CHIC is on the New York Times for the third week! Then I found out that the reprint of CANDLE IN THE WINDOW is on the same New York Times List!
TONGUE IN CHIC is my thirty-first book, and it’s on at #12.
CANDLE IN THE WINDOW is my first book and is on at #34. It was originally published sixteen years ago this month, has been reprinted innumerable times, and this time the book was repackaged with a new cover and given a print run of sixty thousand -- more than twice the original print run, but still tiny compared to most print runs that hit the New York Times. Around my house, we call CANDLE IN THE WINDOW, "The Book That Will Not Die."
What were the chances these two books could land on the same New York Times bestseller list? Well, do you remember the saying, "There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell?"
When they told me, I was so happy I couldn't stop laughing. Then I cried. The funny thing is -- a few flakes of snow kept drifting past the window. Just every once in a while. And all I could think is, "Gee, I didn't know this was hell, but it must be."
Thank you so much for all your wonderful support and your inspiring fan letters. I write for you, and you have helped make this day one of the happiest of my life.
Warmly,
Christina Dodd
