    There was a 30 per cent rise in Telecom sector print ad volumes in 2006 over the previous year. Telecommunication Services took the highest 75 per cent share of Print ad volumes. While Q1 saw maximum advertising by Telecom sector in 2006, the maximum share of ad volumes was garnered by publications from South zone. Reliance Communications was the top telecom advertiser in Print in 2006.

    I would go to the studio of all my competitors and see what they are doing.

    I would have been a writer.
    ØOne good thing and one bad thing about radio?
    Good thing about radio is that you can’t be seen on it. The bad thing is the single frequency system which is not letting radio develop in India.

    Sanjay Banerjee has decided to move on after a stint of three and a half years with Zee Network as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications. He is yet to decide on his next destination. Banerjee started his career in advertising. He then went on to produce a video magazine called ‘India Live’ for NRIs. In 1992 he started his own advertising venture called Sanjay Associates. After four years, he moved to Star TV’s Marketing department for one and a half years. Prior to Zee, Banerjee was with CNBC-TV 18 for two years as Manager.

    Shantanu Choudhury is joining Paprika Media (Time Out), the media arm of Essar Ltd, as GM-North. His last stint was with The Indian Express as Deputy Chief Manager-Marketing for almost 11 years. He has extensive experience in handling display advertising and servicing ad agencies and key clients. Prior to Indian Express he had a two-year stint with GETIT Yellow Pages.

    Rajiv Bhatia has joined Inorbit Malls (India) as CEO, in place of Yogesh Samat. Bhatia, in his last assignment, led Bombay Dyeing’s retail initiative across multiple verticals including luxury, mid-market and hypermarkets. During his 16-year stay in Australia and Asia Pacific, he had held the position of VP-Asia Pacific, Consulting & Advisory, AC Nielsen.consult, a subsidiary of AC Nielsen research group, and VP-Operations and Partner with Australian Consulting Partners.

    Ritu Jugran has been appointed Assistant Director - PR of The Grand, New Delhi. She will handle all media and communication activities for the hotel, its seven F&B outlets, conventions and spa. Jugran was previously with Choice Hotels India, a mid-market hotel chain, as PR Manager. Prior to that she was with ITC Welcomgroup as Public Relations Executive.
