Breakfast in a Glass by Leanne Ely, C.N.C.
If you want to lose weight, try eating breakfast. Oh I know, you’re going
to tell me you aren’t hungry—just give me some coffee and all will be
right in my world. Or so you think.
The problem is that nothing will be right in our worlds if we perpetually
do this. Not eating breakfast means we haven’t started our engines so to
speak and consequently, we’re putting our metabolisms on hold. That means
the body clutter we sit on won’t budge. How ‘bout that? Does that work for
you?? It definitely doesn’t for me!
I have diligently applied myself to this Body Clutter principle to EAT
BREAKFAST! And it’s made a difference, helping me to shed over 50 pounds
of Body Clutter. But there have been times when I didn’t want to eat
anything. So guess what I did? I DRANK my breakfast!
Here’s a smoothie recipe that I make everyday for everyone in my
household. Oh and here’s something I REALLY love about this smoothie
(besides the fact that it tastes AWESOME)—it helps make vitamins go down
without gagging because it’s nice and thick! That’s a biggie for me, so
check this wonderful easy recipe out!
Ladies and Gentlemen…start your BLENDERS!
Leanne’s Incredibly Easy, Non-Measured Smoothie “Recipe)
Makes 2 yummy smoothies
2-3 ice cubes
1 banana, frozen
a handful of frozen (organic if you can) berries, your choice (about 1/3
cup)
2 scoops protein powder (I use a vanilla whey protein powder)
1 10 ounce bottle of Stonyfield Farm low-fat yougurt smoothie (I use
vanilla mostly)**
orange juice (just enough to add more liquid if you need it)
**You can use soy milk if you prefer; vanilla soy milk would work great
Put everything in a blender (I have a 450 watt blender that works great!)
and LET HER RIP!
COOKING NOTES:
For the berries option, you could use peaches, some more banana whatever.
Smoothies are pretty forgiving--the only necessary component is frozen
fruit to make it shake-like.
That’s it. Pretty simple, isn’t it? That’s how easy breakfast can be in
the morning. This smoothie takes me all of two minutes to make.

Dress Your Age by Leslie, MissusSmartyPants.com
You should act your age and dress age appropriate. Seems like great sound
advice for just about anyone. The problem is: what does this really mean?
With women nowadays often feeling and looking younger than their actual
numerical age, this leaves them unsure of what styles are considered “age
appropriate”. No woman wants to look older than her years and most would
like to be mistaken for a woman a couple of years younger. So, if you feel
like you are twenty but the truth be told—you’re closer to forty, is it
okay to wear the lower-rise jeans or tummy baring shirts?
With the rules or lines more blurred than ever, it has become harder to
navigate the styles and know what is considered age appropriate. Most
women don’t know if they are dressing age appropriate--or not. This is
apparent if you take a trip to your local shopping mall. Pay close
attention to women over 40. These women are either dressed like their
teenage daughters or are way too matronly for their age and appear frumpy.
This age group seems to have lost their sense of style—and they don’t know
where to find it! Lack of style does not have to plague this age group
anymore! It can be found!
Let’s look at some basic guidelines for each age group and what women of
each age should concentrate on to look their best.
20’s to 30’s. This is the age that you can virtually pull off any style
and get away with it! Go for it! You can wear a trend to an extreme and
still look cute and believable at the same time. Try the skinnys or short
shorts, if you feel you have the body for it! Take advantage of this
fashion forward attitude you naturally possess.
Mid 30’s and the 40’s. This is the age group with the most style
infractions and faux pas! They need help in fashion direction the most.
You body has changed over the years and is no longer that of a teenager.
You need to choose clothes that are more pulled together and polished.
Think: style with sophistication. You need to include dressing well as an
important part of who you are. Your sense of style and what you wear, make
up your image as a grown woman. Go for better quality clothes, makeup and
accessories. Wear clothes that are well fitted and avoid anything baggy.
It’s time to let go of the ultra trendy looks and add more sophisticated
chic into your wardrobe. You can still be stylish, but only wear one trend
at a time. Covering up more skin is better than risking over-exposure.
Showing too much starts to look bad at this age--a little skin is actually
more effective. If you have nice legs show them off! Think: skirt with a
slit. Avoid skirt with slit and major cleavage at the same time!
50’s and 60’s. This age needs to dress even more classic than the 30 to
40’s. Classic pieces really pull together your look. Clothing with
structure adds an air of style to you. Look for well tailored basics that
make up a majority your wardrobe. Keep it simple in design and use
accessories sparingly but with a modern look to them.
Dressing “age appropriate” can be done! As you get older, avoid extreme
styles and overly-funky clothes. Use accessories more to show your
personal sense of style.
