Weekly - 7 Feb 2007

Hello ***

This week we have a veritable feast (and I'm not referring to Hannibal in quite that way) of new releases to choose from. From Hannibal Rising, the prequel to the much-admired (feared?) Hannibal series, to Little Children, featuring Oscar-nominated Kate Winslet (Best Actress), there's plenty to choose from.

Cheers,
Lisa

Hannibal Rising *rated 7/10*
(MA) 121 mins
As the Soviet Union redraws its borders in the wake of World War II, much of Eastern Europe comes under the bitter yoke of Soviet domination. In Lithuania, one teenager, orphaned by the war and mute from the horrors he has endured, finds himself incarcerated in a Soviet orphanage, where he rebels against the place's rigid pecking order. But this is no ordinary boy, it's the young Hannibal Lecter.

Other new releases:

- Smokin' Aces
- Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny
- Little Children *rated 9/10*
