Man held in attempted murder at American Legion
Huntsville police are investigating an attempted murder at the American Legion hall on Long Avenue Friday night.

Police said a man entered the American Legion hall at about 10:30 p.m. and confronted his ex-girlfriend, then took out a pistol and shot at her three times. The suspect, who was charged with attempted murder, was subdued by patrons of the American Legion, who held him until police arrived.

The victim was taken to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
