WATCH THE KING OF NEW YORK VIDEO NOW!
The KONY Video went live just this morning... watch it now!
Go to DC’s website now to view the King of New York Video! The DC skateboard team—including Josh Kalis, Brian Wenning, Ryan Smith, Ryan Gallant, Devine Calloway, Colin McKay, Lindsey Robertson, Sean Malto, and Greg Myers—descended on New York for the inaugural “King of…,” and the whole trip turned out to be a huge success. As Lindsey Robertson says in the video, “The King of New York was the best trip we’ve (DC) been on. It was like a vacation!”

Like a vacation is right—the guys hung out in their own private Manhattan loft for a month straight, skating everyday. While in the Big Apple the guys also attended some private DC parties, attended a few autograph signings, and took the opportunity to judge the King of New York contests, DC’s series of Am skate contest at legit street spots in each of the city’s five boroughs.

In addition to the online version of the video, there'll be a podcast version of the King of New York Video that will be available next week. Additional, keep an eye out for a DVD version of the video. It will be hitting counter displays soon, strictly at skate shops.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: DC IN AZ
Top: Devine, BS crailslide on the step-up.
Bottom: Kalis gets mobbed at Pulse.

Last weekend members of the DC skateboard team road-tripped to Arizona to put on a demo, sign some autographs at Pulse, and get a bit of filming done. Kalis, Gallant, Devine, Malto, Myers, and members of DC’s flow program packed in the van for drive from San Diego to Phoenix.

While the demo went down on Sunday, the guys went to Arizona five days early to skate. The highlight? A five-hour mini-ramp session at the Cowtown warehouse, where all had a great time. Sunday’s demo was kicked off with the signing at Pulse, and an estimated 400 locals lined-up to get a poster tagged. Thanks to everyone who came out!

Stay tuned to the Newsclip. In the coming weeks we’ll have a new photo gallery from the Arizona trip and Tampa Am ready for your viewing pleasure.
“I AM: DANNY WAY” PREMIERES AT X-DANCE ON SATURDAY
This weekend is the US premiere of “I Am: Danny Way,” a film that chronicles the life and skateboarding career of Danny. Presented by DC, the film is premiering this weekend in Utah as one of the official selections of the 2007 X-Dance Film Festival.

"I Am: Danny Way" is an in-depth interview film. From his earliest days skateboarding and surfing in San Diego to his days with the original Plan B and finally his jump over the Great Wall of China on 2005, the intimate portrait is told mostly in the words of Danny Way himself. The documentary gets you up-close and personal with one of the best skateboarders of all time.

RC TAKES SECOND FOR THE SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK
It was this tight up front for basically the entire main event. RC leads early on.
While the DC skate team was just down the street skating, DC Moto Team Rider Ricky Carmichael was busy earning his second-straight second place finish at Chase Field, home of the Phoenix round of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series. The strong finish marked Ricky’s 50th-straight Supercross podium!
RC.
From holeshot to checkered flag, RC owned his heat race, winning it in convincing fashion. Like last week’s season opener in Anaheim, the supercross main event was what the fans were waiting for, with nearly every one of the 45,000 fans on their feet ready for the action. After a red-flag induced restart of the race, RC came out of the gates well, taking the early lead. By turn three it was a classic RC / James Stewart battle, with James on Ricky’s rear fender for the next few laps. At about the halfway point James slipped by Ricky. Ricky stayed within seconds of Bubba for the remainder of the 20-lap main, but was unable to make the pass.

This weekend Ricky begins his semi-retirement from supercross… he won’t be racing at Anaheim 2. Stay tuned to DC Newsclip for more on RC and the supercross season in the coming weeks!

DC AM CHAS GULDEMOND EARNS THIRD AT VAIL SESSIONS
Comin' in hot! Chas spins a 1080.

Last weekend DC am Chas Guldemond earned third place in the Super Slopestyle portion of the Honda Session in Vail amidst very stiff competition… and balls of flames!

The riding at The Vail Session—and at all snowboard comps this year, for that matter—has been absolutely ridiculous; it seems the riders have stepped things up in terms of amplitude, technicality, and rotations. As if the riding wasn’t enough to get you psyched, The Vail Session is always a good show thanks to the pyrotechnics that go off as the riders hit the four big kickers and skate-influenced obstacles at the bottom (check out the photo above).

As one mag put it this week, you'll be seeing a lot more of this face in snowboarding's future. Chas.

After riding well all night, Chas Guldemond found himself just out of the top three. He needed something solid to earn a podium slot, and his final run proved to be enough, spinning a remarkable BS 1260 (the first one ever at the event) and finishing his run with a McTwist out of the quarter pipe. Chas just missed the mark set by Andreas Wiig (1st) and David Benedeck (2nd), but managed to beat out the likes of Kevin Pearce with the great last run. Nice one Chas!

Want to see the action for yourself? The Honda Session at Vail will air on NBC in a one-hour special on Saturday, January 20 at 2:00 (EST).
