Game: Cincinnati at Indianapolis (Monday 12/18 8:30 PM Eastern)

Who can forget last year's matchup between these two teams? There were 943 yards and 92 points. Peyton Manning threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns while Carson Palmer, Peyton's heir-apparent as NFL's top QB, was right behind him with 335 yards and two touchdowns. Right now Palmer is ahead of Manning in the stats and his team has been on a tear of late while Indianapolis has fallen on hard times. If it is possible for a conference-leading team with 10 wins to be in panic mode, Indy is there. A 10-3 record doesn't sound quite as good when you add the caveat that they were 9-0 four weeks ago. In the past four weeks they have lost three times and they are off a terribly embarrassing 17-44 clubbing at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars. They gave up 375 yards on the ground - second worst ever since the NFL-AFL merger. For about eight weeks they have known that their run defense was horrible yet they have been unable to mend it. Now they face a very hi! gh-powered potent offense that is clicking. Cincinnati has won four straight games by an average margin of 25-8. But, temper that with the fact that those games included Cleveland and Oakland. Indianapolis' offense averaged 29 ppg in their first seven games but in their last five, that figure has dropped by a touchdown per game. Much is on the line here in the AFC playoff picture.
