When CDW realized it needed a new data center, it didn't need to look far to find a company to outfit it. The company has a bylaw by which it has to use products it actually sells. Good thing its catalogs list products from over 1,200 brands. And one of those is AMD.

"After studying the architectures of different CPUs," says Frank Regan, senior systems engineer at the Vernon Hills, IL-based solution provider, "I recommended to management that we use AMD processor-based servers." That choice is a reflection of the growing relationship between CDW and AMD. As a participant in AMD's Systems Channel Program, AMD has assigned sales and marketing resources to CDW which are accelerating the mutual business. Andrew Jordan, AMD's WW systems channel sales manager, began calling on CDW in June 2005 and AMD has since added Jason Carriere, WW commercial systems channel marketing manager, to the team. Regan is quick to point out, "A year ago, we had virtually no relationship with AMD, and now we've built an exceptional [one]."
