Belrose Theatre presents James Goldman's black comedy THE
LION IN WINTER Friday and Saturday nights in December and January.
The production stars Marin Shakespeare Company's own Robert
Currier as King Henry II and Margie Belrose as Queen Eleanor.
Jackson Currier plays Prince John, with additional appearances
by Elias Escobedo and Michael Abts.
Set at Christmastime in 1183, this spectacular family drama
was made famous by the Academy Award winning 1966 film starring
Peter O'Toole and Katherine Hepburn. It tells the story of
a magnificent monarch and his equally powerful wife and the
squabbles to decide which of their three sons will succeed
to the throne of England and half of France.
The Belrose Dinner
Theatre was established in 1961 and provides an intimate setting
for theatre in downtown San Rafael.
Friday's arrival time is
7:30 pm, tickets are $25. Saturday's arrival time is 7 pm and
includes a sumptuous 3-course dinner and Show, tickets are
$40. Mulled wine for this holiday show, as well as other wines
and beer will be available. Come in costume and sit at the
nobles banquet table (if you rent your costume from The Belrose
costume shop, enjoy a 50% discount on your costume). EARLY
