Maximum clubhead
speed occurs as the arms and club pass the body. You
want to reach this speed through the ball, not before
it, but making sure the body leads the arms and club
into impact. If the arms race out of sequence and pass
the body too son, the result is a weak, arms-only strike.
To maintain the proper sequence, think about keeping
your belly button ahead the club's butt end until impact.
You should feel as if the club were getting stuck behind
you in the downswing before passing your body and whipping
through the ball.
