A Preview of Week 10 Match-Ups
The 'bye' weeks are over. We're halfway through the 2006-07 season.
And there are plenty of big division games this week to keep NFL fans
happy. While the teams play to improve their league standing, some interesting
fantasy match-ups are happening, too.
During this
week's podcast, NFL Analyst Russ Bliss takes a look at each of the
16 games scheduled for Week 10. The Jets take on the Patriots, who are
always tough coming off a loss. Meanwhile, the Redskins battle the Eagles,
the Rams look to upset the Seahawks, and the Buccaneers take on the
Panthers. And who could forget the Indianapolis Colts -- the NFL's only
undefeated team. They can become the first team in history to post consecutive
9-0 starts, assuming they handle the Bills at home on Sunday.
Here's just a taste of what you can expect on the
podcast:
- Can Bills RB Anthony Thomas make an impact versus the Colts? On
the plus side, the Colts have a run defense ranked 32nd. Their 5.3
yds-per-carry against the run may look attractive if you've got Thomas.
However, if the Colts come out swinging and build up an early lead,
Thomas will be lucky get 20 carries, and keep in mind he's not a great
pass-catching running back. But if the Bills control the ball with
their run, Thomas could put together some decent numbers.
- Will Bears QB Rex Grossman rebound against the Giants? The Giants
D is 15th overall against the pass, but recently they've been better
than that. In four of their last five games, the Giants have given
up only an average 176 yards per game through the air, and have only
allowed two passing TDs in the last five weeks. And don't forget,
Grossman is without Bernard Berrian. Bottom line: you may consider
benching Grossman this week.

Forum Post of the Week
10 for 10. Seems appropriate for this
week's forum post on sleepers. We've got 10 posts thus far for Week
10 picks. So far our users think Mike Bell at Oakland will be the player
to watch. Or will it be just-underneath-the-radar guys like Marion Barber
or Wali Lundy? Tells us! Go ahead, sound

Giants Super Sleeper
Who's gonna fill the gap now that Giants WR Amani Toomer is sidelined?
NFL Analyst Russ Bliss thinks it's Tim Carter. Carter, a second round
pick of the Giants in the 2002 NFL Draft, is speedy but injury-prone.
Still, he could come up big and you might want to grab him right away.
Find out why by listening to this
week's podcast or take a gander at this blog
