T.RICE WINS ICER AIR 2006
Last weekend DC’s Travis Rice, Bjorn Leines, and Am Chas Guldemond converged with a handful of other riders in downtown San Francisco’s AT&T Park for Icer Air 2006. On the line was over $25,000 in cash and a two-year lease of a Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The giant drop-in, kicker, gap, and landing was squeezed into the stadium.
The big air jump that stood over a 100ft. above the field was covered with 200 tons of snow, had a 20ft. gap and a difficult jump transition and landing, which proved to make things more than interesting for the riders.

Despite the conditions they stepped right up to the challenge, with Chas stomping his BS 7 indy, and Bjorn throwing his timeless method and BS 180. Other riders like Andreas Wiig and Danny Kass were throwing down solid runs as well, but it was none other that DC’s Travis Rice that stood alone from the rest.
Travis Rice hits the kicker.
Travis established himself right off the bat, stomping his BS 9 nosegrab with the signature T.Rice style. With over 25,000 people present at the event, all eyes turned on Travis---he stepped it up, nailing a clean BS rodeo 7 nosegrab, sealing the victory, $10,000 and a two-year lease of a Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Congratulations Travis on a great kick-off to your 2006/2007 season!

PASTRANA PREMIERES LOCK N’ LOAD IN HOLLYWOOD
BUY IT IN STORES ON TUESDAY
Last night in Hollywood, CA Travis Pastrana premiered Lock N’ Load, the latest installment in the list of videos from the insane Nitro Circus crew. Proudly presented by DC, look for Lock N’ Load to hit shelves this coming Tuesday.
Hosted by Travis Pastrana himself, the premiere went down at The Day After, located on the famed Hollywood Blvd. The laid back invite-only event featured tons of Travis’ friends turning out to catch a first glimpse of the flick. Judging by the reactions of those lucky enough to attend the premiere, Lock N’ Load is just as impressive as the previous releases from Travis, the Nitro Circus Crew, and Godfrey Films.
Travis with DC co-founder--and his DC rally teammate--Ken Block at Thursday night's premiere.
If you’ve seen the previous Nitro Circus films then you would guess Lock N’ Load would be filled with heaps of crashes, spills and disastrous wrecks, all in the sake of good, clean fun. But it’s a lot more than that. Check it out and you’ll see all types of motorsports, like Ricky Carmichael battle towards his final AMA championships, the epic 2006 FMX battle between Travis and Nate Adams, and the friendly battle between Travis and MC at this year’s Erzberg Rodeo. There’s also some crazy stuff like couch races, slip n’ bleed (aka Travis’ version of slip n’ slide), and Travis’ RV being absolutely disintegrating thanks to some reckless off road riding. And of course, the famed Pastrana double backflip from X Games 12 is in there.

Although Lock N’ Load doesn’t drop until next week, you can check out the trailer to the movie now by visiting nitrocircuscrew.com. Follow this link to check it out and to find out how you can get a copy.

CATCH UP WITH COREY BOHAN: STOP BY RIDE BMX’s SITE
Corey's no-handed one-footer to whip at this summer's X Games.

Corey Bohan’s been on a roll in 2006, counting a win at the Red Bull Elevation in Whistler, a third-straight X Games Gold medal in BMX Freestyle Dirt, and a third-straight NORA Cup among his list of accomplishments. Head over to Ride BMX’s site to check out a short interview with the DC BMX team member… the 8 questions fill us in on how he feels about judging formats, his current hometown of Corona, CA, and his personal pet peeves. There’s also a bunch of competition photos of Corey.

RY CRAIKE PROFILED IN SURFER MAGAZINE

Check out the new issue of “Surfer” to get the story behind Ry Craike, the newest member on the 4-man DC surf team. Ry’s the subject of this month’s 7-page “Surfer Profile.”

Ry’s not the type of surfer to chase the contest circuit (for now), so we don’t get to see much about him, with the exception of a video part here and there—check out “Young Guns II” or Dane Reynolds’ “First Chapter” for some great footage of Craike. The profile in this month’s “Surfer” delves into Ry’s Western Oz upbringing, exploring how a guy from the tiny town of Kalbarri (pop. 3000) became, in the magazine’s words, one of the “most exciting and talented surfers on the p***t.” And, where is a free surfer like Ry planning on taking his career?

The December 2006 issue of “Surfer Magazine" is in surf shops now.
