JONATHAN PEARCE ON THE FA CUP
It's FA Cup first round time again, and I'll be commentating for Match of the Day at Weymouth's Wessex Stadium ahead of Sunday's visit of Bury.
I love the FA Cup. The first full commentary I ever did was in the Cup - a qualifying round between Bath City and Weston Super Mare in 1980 for Radio Bristol.
I also did one of my first radio reports in an extra preliminary round at Dorchester.
The phone I used to call in the scores was in the manager's office and I had to keep running from the side of the pitch to the office.
The game finished something like 7-5 - I was exhausted by the end of it!
Thankfully Sunday's facilities won't be quite so basic.
Weymouth are a very ambitious club riding high in the Conference and they've got a terrific home record going back months.
You might remember they made headlines at this stage last season when they held Nottingham Forest to a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.
And manager Garry Hill led Dagenham and Redbridge to some famous FA Cup exploits in recent years.
But it's not a great time to be playing Bury, who have won their last six league games and are playing with real confidence.
If they were to win on Sunday it would be their best run since the 1960/61 season.
Both teams like to knock the ball around and play with wide men who run at defenders, so I'm expecting an entertaining game.
I think there'll be goals, and I wouldn't mind betting it will be a 2-2 draw.
Enjoy your FA Cup weekend,
