Dear
***,
The results of yesterday's elections set
the stage for one of the most eventful — and consequential
— moments that Planned Parenthood has ever experienced.
For the first time in 12 long years, the leadership of
the U.S. House of Representatives is finally out of the hands of
anti-choice politicians. Voters elected pro-choice candidates to
a host of federal, state, and local offices. And the stunning
victory in South Dakota, where voters rejected a dangerous
abortion ban, showed the power of a strong, affirmative,
pro-prevention message.
Now, we need to move forward in
the courts and in the court of public opinion to advance our
cause.
KEEP
MOVING FORWARD. PLEASE DONATE NOW.
As you
well know, the action didn't stop on Election Day.
In
fact, this morning we will stand before the U.S. Supreme Court
in Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood and present our
challenge to the dangerous federal abortion ban. We will ask the
court to strike down a law that would take personal, moral
decision making away from women and families and put it in the
hands of politicians. Perhaps even more than yesterday's
elections, the court's decision in this case will help shape the
future of reproductive freedom.
The stakes
couldn't be higher, with one critical event following another in
rapid succession. The days and weeks ahead are filled with
risks, but also opportunities.
I know how much you've
done to bring us to this point. And I'm confident you will do
everything you can to keep us moving forward.
Thank you
very much for all of your efforts.
Sincerely,

Cecile
Richards President Planned Parenthood Federation of
America
P.S. This is always a critical time of the year
for Planned Parenthood supporters to step up their efforts. But,
right now — with so much going on — we especially
need to hear from you. Thanks again for all that you do.
