  Short Takes
SO, SIZE DOES MATTER? Looks like the flood of odd holiday gifts has officially started. The All Australian underwear company is pushing the AussieBum ?Patriot,? which it says ?makes all men's desires become reality.? We don?t know about that, but they are hawking a new line of undies that it likens to the male equivalent of the WonderBra. Or, to quote their own release, ?It helps keep everything positioned forward and proudly on display to the world in a larger-than-normal manner.? (Eek.) And as we?re Irish by descent, that might be something we?d be interested in. You can try to see what they?re crowing about at AussieBum.com, but apparently the word is out, as we got a ?Warning: Too many connections? message the second time we went there. (What? It was RESEARCH!)

AND THEN THERE?S THIS BUZZ-KILL: A company called Talking Presidents, which makes 11-inch tall Ken-like dolls (Oh, excuse us, ?Action Figures?), has announced its newest product, the ?Dr. Laura Talking Action Figure.? Based on the conservative radio host, the figure utters 23 recognizable sayings in her own voice including "Now, go do the right thing," "I am the proud mother of an American Soldier," "Don't argue with me, it makes me testy," and "I am my kid's mom." If you want one, hurry over the TalkingPresidents.com. The loquacious Laura is going for a relatively cheap $29.99, but they?re only making 40,000 of ?em. (40,000? Good luck with that.)

IT?S NOT WHAT YOU THINK: A company we never heard of, Quantum Intech of Boulder Creek, Calif., wants us to spread the word about its ?emWave Personal Stress Reliever.? (And we now pause while we clear our throat, look nervously around, bite our lower lip and log on to EmWave.com) But as luck would have it, the unit, which is touted as ?a handheld interactive device, small enough to fit in your purse or pocket,? is not what all you potty-minds think it us. The company recommends you ?use emWave to reset your inner balance before important communications, meetings, between tasks, and to rebalance your mind and emotions following stressful situations.? Still sounds dirty to us, but maybe that says more about us than them.

And it woulda been just our luck to have the boss stop by as we were looking at ?Personal Stress Relievers.? Help reduce our stress by visiting our new Blog and dropping a comment or critique. Management?s watching!
