Betontac, Wrestling Dostoievsky
Sushi Performance and Visual Art
at UCSD, Molli & Arthur Wagner Dance Building, Studio Theatre #3 (La Jolla)
San Diego Premiere. Performed in the round and inspired by "Crime and Punishment," this performance excels through its atmosphere, charged with the emotionally, psychically fragmented state of the characters in the novel, captured
within a theatrical moment. Slovene theatre-dance sensation Betontanc focuses on the physicality of the human body and its correspondence with elements that bound the freedom of movement--be it either infantile and ridiculous or brutal and
violent, the audience is always confronted with the breath taking presence of realness.

Life X 3
Lamb's Players Theatre (Coronado)
Henry and Sonia are set for a quiet evening at home, when Henry's astrophysics colleague and his wife arrive for dinner a night earlier than expected. Hilarity and tension both mount as the two couples attempt to navigate the precarious
tightrope of spoken and unspoken passions, fears and longings. But there's a twist. Just as pandemonium ensues, playwright Reza starts the whole thing over, and we see it again...but different this time. In fact, Reza shows us the couples'
evening three different ways--a slight shift in timing, an altered mood, the change of a small decision--and we witness life's fascinating twists. Another brilliant comedy/drama by the author of LPT's 2004 hit, ART.
