Q.Can you give me any idea of the origin and age of this old musket I have?
A. This is called "A Blunderbus", a typical short barrel that used a large number of projectiles that in one shot, could clear an alley way or the deck of a ship. Originally considered a Crowd Control gun, this type never really caught on in North America. I would guess that this one is either British, French or Spanish in origin. Without more detailed information and a series of detailed pictures, the best that I could do is a guess the age between 1750 and 1800. Answered by Phil Wyles
