Sony BDP-S1 Blu-ray Disc Player - Product Preview
The Sony BDP-S1 is the latest Blu-ray player to show up on store shelves. The Sony BDP-S1 plays Blu-ray discs at full 720p, 1080i, or 1080p resolution via its HDMI output. The BDP-S1 is also playback compatible with standard DVDs and most recordable DVD formats, but does not have provisions for standard CD playback. Standard DVDs are upscaled via the HDMI output. Is it worth it to make the jump to Sony Blu-ray? For more about the Sony BDP-S1, check out my Product Preview. |

| Tower Records To Close All Stores After struggling for the past couple of years, legendary Audio and Video software retailer, Tower Records will close the doors of all of its stores. Tower records had a reputation of carrying not only the latest music and video releases, but offered an extensive older, hard-to-find, audio and video title inventory. Starting out as the largest retailer of LP records, Tower embraced the CD, Laserdisc, and DVD over the years, much to the delight of audio and videophiles. Also, let us not forget the great 9am - to - Midnight operating hours at most of its locations. For additional perspective on the passing of this pop-culture icon, and what the future may hold for music and video software retailing, check out the report from Audio/Video Revolution. |
