[1] Miniature desiccators prevent humidity and corrosion damage

Brownell has recently introduced a range of miniature desiccators
ideally suited for instrument and system applications with limited
installation space and access. High humidity and condensation can have
an adverse and detrimental effect on the performance and reliability
of optical, electronic and computer instruments. The desiccators are
filled with adsorbents to reduce the humidity to safe levels
preventing condensation, humidity damage and malfunction. Miniature
desiccators can be fitted internally or mounted in a M5 thread
connection.

[3] "Shop Online" open for business

HepcoMotion has introduced its new "Shop Online" to meet the need for
simple and quick ordering of linear motion components for
straightforward applications. Initially for UK customers only, this
service covers four of the most popular HepcoMotion product lines -
the ready-to-mount Simple Select, DualVee single-edge track and
wheels, LBG linear ball guides and HTS recirculating ball bearing
telescopic slides.

[4] Tubing pumps for simple and effective OEM pumping

Ismatec peristaltic tubing pumps are capable of pumping almost any
media, even highly viscous liquids, sterile and corrosive fluids, or
those containing up to 60% solids. Also, as the pumped fluid is
contained within the tube, problems of contamination are eliminated,
as is the need for cleaning or flushing. Ismatec pumps are supplied
with easy-to-calibrate microprocessor controlled drives, so they are
ideal for OEM applications requiring low pressure, low flow accurate
pumping or dispensing. Choose from a range of models providing
flowrates from 0.001ml/min up to 13,000 ml/min and 10 different tubing
materials.

[5] New National Instruments LabVIEW 8.20: Easy, powerful, open

National Instruments recently launched NI LabVIEW 8.20, the 20th
anniversary edition of its industry-leading graphical system design
platform for test, control and embedded system development. This
version builds on easy-to-use graphical programming, introduces
powerful features for developing measurement applications, and
provides open connectivity tools to integrate external applications
and services. Find out what's new in LabVIEW 8.20, including
object-oriented development and math-oriented textual programming.

[6] Website predicts sheet metal forming problems before they happen

StampingSimulation.com has launched a new suite of services for
customers who want the benefits of Forming Simulation Technology, but
don't want to incur the expense and overhead of owning licenses. The
four new online service offerings consist of OptimizerOnline, a free
Blank Shape Nesting report; QuickQuoteAssist, a service designed to
help improve accuracy in the quotation stage of bidding for new work;
SimulateLite, a service package designed to give a quick, accurate
check on the formability of an already designed die face; and
SimulateComplete, a full service offering, which uses a series of
simulations to find the optimal simulated design.

[8] A real family of solid state relays and thyristor power controllers

With the latest introduction of the DC analogue input solid state
relays, CD Automation now boasts the most comprehensive power control
device range on the market today. The extensive range is capable of
accurately controlling a wide spectrum of electrical loads up to
3000kW, from simple single-phase heaters up to complex high
temperature-coefficient three-phase loads.

[9] Linear actuators for sub micron mechanical alignment

To meet the increasing need for precision levelling and alignment in
industrial machinery a comprehensive range of high load motorised
linear actuators is now available from PI. The actuators, which
incorporate a low friction, heavy duty ballscrew, can move and hold
loads of up to 40kg to within a step size of 0.1 microns. A non
rotating tip design, built in Hall-Effect limit and reference switches
and a line driver that allows a cable length of up to 10m, helps to
simplify the integration process for the Design Engineer.
