Many Web developers have used HTML validators to make sure their sites work correctly with HTML, but it's not as common to use an accessibility validator. The challenge with these validators is that unless your site is very plain you need to do a lot of work yourself to make sure that it really does validate.

Just using a validator for accessibility isn't enough
Unlike HTML validators, there are some aspects of accessibility that can only be reliably tested by a human reviewer. For instance, a validator can check that you have alternative text set for all your images, but it can't check that it is "equivalent". But using an accessibility validator is the first step to making sure that your site is accessible.

But Why Be Accessibile at All?
