The Jazzercise Taping Experience

Coming soon, on Saturday, September 9, Jazzercise, Inc. will open its doors to a select number of lucky guests. They’re signed up to attend the first-ever Jazzercise Taping Experience at the newly remodeled corporate studio in Carlsbad, California. The main attraction of the day is being the first to work out to a brand new set of routines choreographed by Jazzercise founder Judi Sheppard Missett. Guests will also have a chance to shop hot new trends and deals at Jazzertogs, tour the chic Jazzercise corporate headquarters, mix and mingle with Judi, Shanna and the Taping Team…and more. All this in an up-close and intimate setting! Registration for the September 9 Jazzercise Taping Experience is  closed. Jazzercise, however, hosts five tapings at a variety of locations e.g. Jazzercise Fitness Center in Oceanside, Jazzercise On Location, every year. Stay tuned for information on future Jazzercise Taping Experiences!

Speaking of Tapings...

The countdown is on for Jazzercise On Location Spring Break in sunny Orlando, FL April 13-14, 2007.  We'll have plenty of exercise for both the body and imagination as we dance, shop, and play at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, Florida.

Technique Tips

Lateral Crunch with Lateral Bicep Curl

Avoid shrugging the shoulders at the end of the bicep curl.  Rather, allow your abdominals to lead your torso as you tip to the side.  Then use the opposing oblique muscles to pull your torso back to neutral position.

Pulsing Hip Extension

This movement begins in a supine position with your knees bent and feet on the floor.  You want to push your hips up to a bridge position so that your trunk is in one straight line.  From there, execute the movement by squeezing your glutes and then releasing to neutral.  Keep in mind that you want to maintain the bridge position when you release.

Why Every Woman Should Exercise

When it comes to good health, everyone should exercise. Did You Know?

Jazzercise Continues to Grow!

When Judi Sheppard Missett first created Jazzercise back in 1969, she was "it."  There were no other instructors.  But once she officially launched the program after moving to southern California in 1972, Jazzercise experienced phenomenal popularity and growth.  This involved the support and enthusiasm of additional franchisees and many, many customers.  And guess what?  It hasn't slowed down one bit!  In fact, today, 37 years later, Jazzercise is going strong with more than 6,800 franchisees promoting fitness to our wonderful customers in all 50 states and 30 countries worldwide. Thank you from all of us at Jazzercise!

Translating the Fat

Source: iVillage.com

It's a fact...and a fat -- trans-fatty acids have become more and more recognizable as the "bad guys" in terms of increasing heart disease.  Trans fats form when liquid oils such as soybean or safflower oil are partially hydrogenated.  This process makes them more solid at room temperature. Starting in 2006, all food labels have begun to list trans-fatty acids.  To find more heart-friendly foods, find and add the combined total grams of the "bad fats" -- trans fat and saturated fat.  Choose the foods with the lowest value.
