MTV Nets Appoints Close to Oversee All Ad Sales
Hank Close has been named president of U.S. advertising sales at MTV Networks, effective immediately. According to a number of external sources,
Close, who had served as the executive vp and general manager of ad sales for MTVN?s music and comedy groups since February 2005, will be annointed
the successor to transitioning ad sales president Larry Divney, who left his full-time position in April. Anthony Crupi reports.

MSN to Stream CW Prime Shows
The CW network has finalized a deal with MSN to stream the first episodes of three of its prime-time series on the portal for one week leading up to
their respective debuts on the network in September, as first reported on Wednesday by Mediaweek. The CW's new drama Runaway will be available on
msn.com beginning Sept. 18, and returning sitcom Everybody Hates Chris will be available beginning on Sept. 24. Mike Shields and John Consoli report.

FSN to Reach 4.8 Mil. Homes Via Comcast Chicago
Fox Sports Net has signed a long-term program affiliation agreement with Comcast SportsNet Chicago to reach 4.8 million cable and satellite homes in
the Comcast SportsNet Chicago distribution area. Under the deal, FSN will get to distribute key sporting events in the market, including Big 12 and
Pac-10 conference games in football, and Pac-10 and ACC basketball. John Consoli reports.

TiVo announced Wednesday it signed an advertising and research agreement with Omnicom Media Group?s OMD and PHD units. As more consumers embrace
digital video recorders and the ability to skip or fast-forward through commercials, agencies and advertisers have sought to learn how best to reach

Hearst-Argyle Names Natz Director Digital Media
Putting more resources behind its digital media initiatives, Hearst-Argyle Television Wednesday named Jacques Natz director of digital media content,
effective Oct. 2. A veteran news director, Natz was most recently news director for WTHR-TV, Dispatch Broadcast Group's NBC affiliate in
Indianapolis. The news follows Hearst-Argyle?s addition last month of Eric Koepele as director of digital media sales. Katy Bachman reports.

Survey: Advertisers Flock to 'Untrustworthy' Media
Though more marketers plan to advertise on blogs and public forums next year, only a small amount of consumers consider those formats to be
trustworthy, according to a new report from Jupiter Research. Only 21 percent of consumers trust product information within such social media when
mulling a product purchase. Consumers are twice as likely to trust information on a corporate Web site or on a professional review site, the research
