JUDAISM 101
This week we will review the Jewish Life Cycle from
birth to death. You know about them all, but I just
may have some surprises for you! Come and learn.
Tuesday night 7:30-9 PM
WOMENS ROSH HODESH SPIRITUALTY GROUP
Do you remember learning in Hebrew School that Rosh
Hodesh (the beginning of the new Hebrew month) was a
women's holiday? You don't? Probably that's because
you were
talking a little too much to the cute guy sitting
behind you! Come and be with other women as we
study the women of the Bible. This week
we take a look at Sarah, our first matriarch.
Wednesday night 7:30-9 PM
FOR WOMEN ONLY, OF COURSE!
NEW! SHABBAT LIGHT SERVICE AT 7:30PM
This Friday night we will inaugurate our Shabbat
Light format. The 5-7th Grades and their families will
get together for Shabbas Dinner at TI, and
afterwards we will all gather at 7:30 PM for
Kabbalat Shabbat services. Note the special time for
this service. I will have some surprises for you,
including a new and different Siddur. THERE WILL BE
NO 8 PM
SERVICE THIS
FRIDAY, come and get a different taste of Shabbat.
Bring your grandchildren and your grandparents.
SHABBAT LIGHT does not mean "Shabbat lite," it means
Shabbat different, and I think you will enjoy
this a lot!

Greetings!
Hevre:
Lots of things happening at Temple this week, hope
to see you and your family!
BUT FIRST,
MAZAL TOV TO THE TREMPERS!
The birth of a new Jewish soul gives our people yet
another chance to bring God's Presence to the world.
May this new baby boy grow to manhood imbued with
love of Torah and the performance of deeds of
goodness and kindness, and may he bring joy to all the
members of the extended Tremper family!
Barry and Suzanne, we all rejoice with you!

HEVRA KADISHA ARTICLE
I hope you enjoy the article I have written in the
United Synagogue Review, which you should be
receiving this week. I have written a long
introduction to the Hevra Kadisha, the Holy Society
of men and women who prepare the dead for burial by
washing and dressing them in a traditional shroud.
This magazine is mailed to every single member
of each Conservative congregation throughout North
America, and I was honored to be asked to write on
this critical topic. Please call or e-mail with your
comments.
