Top Picks - Portable DVD Players  from your Portable Entertainment Guide
DVD players these days don’t have to be limited to just your living room entertainment cabinet. There are a lot of portable DVD players on the market which offer the ability to view your favorite movies on a small screen and pump out sound comparable to their bigger brothers. Take a peak below to see some of the ones I find to be among the best out there.

1) Panasonic DVD-LS90
The most interesting thing about this portable DVD powerhouse from Panasonic is the large, 9” bright widescreen display which can rotate to different viewing angles. The player offers up six of battery life before needing to be recharged, can play several different DVD (DVD-RAM/-R/-RW/+R/+RW) and CD (MP3, CD-R/RW, WMA) formats and its A/V outputs, including optical, can be used to turn the DVD-LS90 into a player for the home.

2) Philips PET1000/37
Combine a large screen, sexy looks and lots of cutting edge features and you come up with this player. The Philips PET1000/37 has a sleek design and black high glossy finish, a high resolution 10.2” LCD which can show DVDs in 16:9 widescreen format and up to 2.5 hours of rechargeable battery play time. Other features include DVD+R/+RW playback support, support for MPEG4 and DivX video media formats, S-video and component video outputs, a line-in connection and dual headphone jacks.

3) Go Video DP7240
One thing which immediately stands out about this 7” LCD screen equipped player is the rubber edges and a design which offers top notch shock protection against DVD skipping. The DP7240 offers up a wide number of playback options, including music CDs (standard on any DVD player) and CD-R/RW digital picture discs. It also comes with a remote control, built-in speakers, 16:9 aspect ratio support and S-Video output.
