Dear Mac Reader,

I flew back from Orlando last night, chasing the sunset as we flew west
back home. I was visiting the South to attend the PMA show (Photo
Marketing Association). The event itself was solid, and I've covered some
highlights in my blogs on macdevcenter.com and thedigitalstory.com. But I
want to talk specifically about Adobe here.

Last Sunday at PMA, Adobe hosted an invitation-only event to announce
Elements 4 for the Mac and to discuss Lightroom (which is in beta 2, Mac
only). I spent quite a bit of time talking to Adobe engineers and business
staff, and one thing that was clear to me was their commitment to the Mac
platform.

When Elements 4 came out for Windows only, there was a lot of grumbling
about Adobe's Mac attitude. Yes, they are good business people and
understand the value of their Windows customers. But the Mac is part of
Adobe's heritage, and when you spend time with the people who work there,
you can feel that.

Elements 4 for the Mac is a terrific-looking application. I'm confident
we're going to see plenty more good Mac stuff from Adobe in the future.

Until next time,

-Derrick
