Environmental Defense: Finding the Ways that Work Sign Up Donate

Polar bears are suffering the effects of a warmer p***t. Time is running out to support our global warming leadership in 2006!

Environmental Defense has been a consistently positive force, finding ways to bridge gaps between industry and the environmental side.

Frank Litz, New York
State coordinator of
climate change policy

Greetings,

As you make your final year-end giving decisions, please consider Environmental Defense as a smart investment in our p***t's future.

This is your last chance to make a year-end tax-deductible gift before 2005 comes to a close:

Please support our work with a tax-deductible, year-end donation today.

For nearly 40 years, our team of scientists, economists, attorneys and other environmental experts has developed innovative solutions to the most serious environmental problems. And we couldn't have done it without your support.

How has your generosity helped us? Take a look at five things you may not know about Environmental Defense:

1. We are a leader in the fight to stop global warming. Our team of experts is crafting new approaches to cut global warming pollution, without harming the economy or costing American jobs. We are challenging political and business leaders to cap America's emissions and unlock America's innovative potential to fight global warming.

2. We have a long track record of achievement. In the 1970s, we won court battles to ban the use of DDT in the U.S. In the 1990s, we crafted an effective market-based approach to reduce acid rain pollution. Today, we're helping protect 3.6 million acres of private land so endangered species can recover. Environmental Defense has a long history of getting things done.

3. We form private-sector partnerships that get results. We accept no money from corporations, but we work in partnership with industry and private landowners to develop solutions that are good for the Earth and for the bottom line. Our latest partnership, with FedEx Express, led to cleaner-burning, more efficient hybrid-electric delivery trucks. As these trucks are phased into service, we'll all breathe a lot easier.

4. We use every dollar wisely. Eighty cents of every dollar we spend goes straight to our program work - creating and championing effective environmental laws and policies.

5. We have passion. We stay focused on the facts and keep a cool head under pressure - and nothing can hide how deeply committed we are to our work!

Our greatest challenges lie ahead, however, and we need your continued support.
Donate now to support effective solutions to our biggest environmental challenges.

Thank you for your generosity and continued commitment to Environmental Defense.

With warm wishes for a joyful New Year,

Fred Krupp
