Watch Word:

Splogs

Slang for "spam blogs," splogs are phantom weblogs created solely for the purpose of increasing search engine page ranking of affiliated sites linked to it, or to increase ad impressions from inadvertent visitors; i.e. each time someone clicks on a paid search term, the advertiser pays the "splogger" a share of revenue. Splogs are usually full of keyword-laden gibberish or useless text stolen from other Web sites.

Usage:
"While blog pundits boast of thousands of new blogs being created daily, the numbers wouldn't be so impressive if you strip away all the splogs polluting the blogosphere."
